Web Traffic, (Lies) and Videotape

By Sean Beardmore

Well as I am writing this post my week off from the J-O-B is coming to an end and it’s back to work tomorrow :(
It’s been a great week, spending time with my family and being focused on my Internet Marketing Business most days completing tasks from my business plan and adding to it.

My biggest achievement this week was recording my first video, and the feedback has motivated me to go on record more!

Any how the next 2 weeks are going to require my full attention and focus on my business.

Why?

Well to start, Alex Jeffreys has set two tasks for the students and giving cash prizes to both!

It is not about the money on, although I would be lying to say I couldn’t do with it right now! but more importantly, the tasks are going to keep me focused on 2 key areas of Internet Marketing, driving web traffic to your sites, the life blood of any online business and using social media to attract NEW traffic.

Sceondly, it’s going to give me the opportunity to expand on Video Marketing and learn new key skills.

So what am I going to be doing to drive traffic to my Blog?

Here’s my List of things to do and I have set out my weekly/daily plan to do this.

Twitter – Become more interactive on twitter, sharing and giving value, not pimping my shit or sending spammy tweets.
Social Bookmarking – Spend time on Social bookmarking sites
Forums – Become active in the Warrior Forum and Digital Point
Articles- I have set myself a task of writing 2 articles a week
Blog Commenting – Continue Commenting on Fellow Student Blogs and Blogs outside of the community
You Tube/Video – I have set up my You Tube Channel, I will also add videos to other channels and plan to make 2 other videos, one for the PPP and one for the competition (see below)
Keyword Research – Although Alex says he doesn’t spend any time on keyword research, I am going to do this to improve the keywords within my posts and Blog.
JV Giveaways – Although I did not have much success when I last got involved with JV Giveaways a couple of months ago (I was doing it wrong) I plan to get involved again.

I wanted to show you a screen shot of my traffic to date to see how far we can get until the comp closes on 14th August, but I am still having challenges adding images to the blog, so hopefully this will be resolved real soon and I can add screenshots as we go.

OK, finally Video!

As you will have seen, I added my very first video this week, and I overcame my fear and it feels good!

Now that brings us on to Video … on the course last week we had a Bonus Call from Maria Andros, ‘The Video Marketing Queen’ which was awesome and I will keep the recording on my Ipod in the car this week. Google Maria and you’ll soon see her fantastic site, and more importantly her inspiring story.

So this brings on the next challenge and another cool cash prize to the person who creates the best video. Now I’m not saying anymore right now as I have many thoughts of what to produce and what story I want to tell on this, but I have many thoughts written down and now I need to start applying them.

The great thing is that this is really going to be a challenge for me with editing the video, but what a learning curve!

Being mentored by alex jeffreys has already being life changing, and more importantly, I am taking action.
And not only ALL of the above has to be done, I am putting the finishing touches to my first eBook/newsletter! I may have to delay this slightly, but will still aim to get this done asap.

So with an average of 2-3 hours an evening focused on all of the above, you could say there may be a few late nights in there too :)

Keep you posted.

Take care
Sean

Great job, Sean!
I just started to make very first stepn with my camcorder and hope to make very first video in couple of days.
I absolutely agree with your opinion about having a Mentor.Without a mentor all our efforts were just waste of time and money. Big money, have to say!

Bring on the video right Sean? Got the first one out of the way very nicely so no reason not to keep doing it. You’ve set yourself up with a heavy schedule and you appear to have the determination to keep at it.
I’ll see you at the top someday.

Woooah, there’s so much to do. That’s why planning is so essential. For me at least, it’s the planning that’s made all the difference in my focus, and things actually getting done.

Great to see you’re focusing on video and rightly so. You’re a natural and video is where everyone is going these days.

Keep your focus and keep those videos coming

Hey Sean,

Great job, the first one is always the hardest and now you are ready to hit the video market full steam ahead.

I worked in an automotive dealership for 11 years. One thing I heard and experience for myself was getting that first stone chip, scratch or dent on your brand new vehicle.

Well to easy the pain I was offer, for a small fee, to every new vehicle owner a pre-scratched, dented and stone chip vehicle before they took delivery. Then they wouldn’t have to worry about getting the first one, it was already done for them. Just think of the relief???

Sadly enough it didn’t go over very well, but hey, one thing I did learn is “if you don’t ask – you will never know”.

The first one is always the hardest and you have passed that hurdle, something I have not done yet.

Keep up the great work.
