Why Did You Start an Internet Marketing Business?
ByInteresting and thought provoking title eh?
Well not really the clue is in there
You see, I’ve consumed a ton of VALUABLE information over the last few weeks, and continue to do so on a daily basis, learning everything I can to ensure my future success and I can only thank my mentor Alex Jeffrey’s and the fellow students of the course for doing so.
I know what you are thinking, too much information, his brain is going to explode any minute and he’ll end up where he was before….. Running around, getting nothing done.
Nothing can be further from the truth, and I’m being honest……so today I asked myself….
“Why did I start an Internet Marketing Business in the first place?”
Then I got the answer when I walked through the office door (at the J-O-B) this morning and realised WHY I was building my Internet marketing business…..to do what I wanted to do…….. have a successful Internet Marketing Business.
OK, it is going to take a little time…..but I’m OK with that, because right now I am building the foundations…and as I have said before, I’m Getting it Right First, Not Fast!
(BTW had a chat for 30 minutes with the Pass Man today, and that is what really inspired me to write this as we discussed it for a while)
You see, backtrack 6-12 even 24 months ago, I would have bought an EBook that was going to make me £15,000 in the next 15 minutes….you know the ones!
I was hoping this was going to be the answer to my dreams, no need to get a J-O-B….. work from my home when I wanted and be the person in charge of mine and my familys future….. not have someone else in charge of it……….. but after reading the EBook I mentioned above, you know what?
After 4 weeks, I would give up and buy the next one, and that is how it goes.
You see, we all have a strong reason WHY we want to do something, I have mine and you will have yours, but I’ve changed my thinking and fast!………….
Today, I am passionate about building my Internet Marketing Business, I get home after been out of the house for 12 hours, see the family and then get on with what I want to do, learning something new every day and applying it to my business.
It doesn’t always go to plan, that’s how life goes, but I have the plan and focus to keep at it. If it takes me 12 months to get there….. so what ( That’s not my goal)……. but I am making steps towards making it happen.
I’m hoping some of my fellow students read this post, those of you that are a feeling overwhelmed at the moment and feel that you are getting left behind with the MWA training………..but do you know what…………I wish I was where you are right now some 2 years ago.
But we do forget…….. what did we know 4 weeks ago? And WHY did we enrol on the course and deside Internet Marketing would be our vehicle ?
Simple, to know how to do it right and stop getting knowhere fast.
I too feel overwhelmed at times, there are guys on the course who are full time online, have the hours in the day and have incredible skills and ideas, but you know what……..great!
These guys (and gals) are becoming friends online and one day we’ll be doing business together, but right now, they are there to help you and everyone else.
Someone always knows something that you won’t.
Building this business is not a race, or a get rich quick scheme, and as Alex says, it’s a Get Rich Forever Business.
It doesn’t matter what pace you go at or even if you’re not on the training right now and watching from the edge…… but if you need help ask for it, or if you have a question about something, ask it.
I don’t know everything I can assure you, but I know more than I thought I knew
Always remember your own personal reasons WHY you are building your Internet Marketing Business, if it’s strong enough you will succeed, don’t give up.
Anyway, that’s my feelings out in the open, hopefully not too emotional for you
all I’ll leave you with these quote’s which I read regulary…
A goal properly set is halfway reached – Zig Ziglar
If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten - Tony Robbins
It’s not knowing what to do, it’s doing what you know -Tony Robbins
Take care, please leave a comment, I love reading what you have to say!

Hey Sean,
A truly inspirational post, straight from your heart.
It\’s almost like I was writing this myself, I can relate to pretty much everything you mention. ebook after ebook, then the next best thing comes along and the cycle starts again.
Luckily, we have now taken the bull by the horns and stopped that cycle in its tracks. It does feel overwhelming when you look at what some of the others are up to, BUT, this is not a race like you say.
You are doing a great job here, see you at the top
Betta go for now, training just about to start!!
Talk soon,

Great post…i loved the quotes .
I do see some frustration occasionally as some of the students are experienced marketers ( and second timers …must have failed the first course ..ha ha) .The point is we need to learn from these guys not get downhearted because they appear to be ahead
thanks again

Hi Sean,
Great post… like you, I followed this cycle for years, jumping from one eBook to the next and rarely followed anything through, therefore I’ve probably spent a lot more online than I’ve ever made!
It can be a difficult cycle to break too. Even with Alex’s help and all the fantastic tools he’s provided, I still have to make a conscious effort to manage my time efficiently and plan what I need to do on a monthly, weekly and daily basis.
Thankfully, I’m finally starting to see results in terms of new subscribers, more traffic and even a few sales, so it’s been a very valuable lesson to learn.
For anyone reading this, take heed of Sean’s advice and start planning how you intend to make your online business a success!
Thanks for posting Sean and stick at it… with Alex’s help I know we’re all on our way to success and it’ll be nice to teach others what we learn along the way

Sean,
Great post Sean, you hit the nail right on the head there. It’s all about the planning.. if you want it hard enough and plan, plan, plan, you will succeed. Sean you keep popping up everywhere i look.. your doing a great job… we will have to have 18 holes one day .. we will have to plan it into our plans!!

Hi Sean,
Glad you liked that Internet Marketing video over on my site. Pretty interesting, wasn’t it?
Good post. I think we have all been through the delusional phase of building an Internet business. It’s a LOT of hard work and anyone who says differently is a BS artist – and there are a LOT of those around too!
Just one thing Sean… see that security code? Get rid of it. It’s an impediment to your visitors. I usually just leave a blog when I see those. Half the time nobody can read them and the wrong number gets put in etc, etc. They are a real pain.
If you have Akismet installed then you can take care of the spammers and pornheads and drug-pushers behind the scenes – a couple of flicks and they get squashed like the flies they are.
All of the MWA1.0 people dumped them.

Hi Sean,
Very down to earth and up into the prosperous future post. I really enjoyed reading it. What you share is perhaps on the minds of a lot of people who are getting into internet marketing. I can identify with it quite well. Your video is very good and I’m sure that it will attract people who come across it.
I’d like to know how you put the social bookmarking icons at the bottom of your page. It’s great to have it there for people to share your post with others. Can you point me to where I can find the info?

Hey Sean, at the risk of running afoul of the Gazzman, this was truly a great post. I get encouraged by seeing people who have been exactly (only hopefully without as much debt) as I am. I do feel a bit overwhelmed right now, but I agree that moving forward is the main thing.
Take care,

Hey Sean,
Wow, that was a cracking post there, very easy to read, it felt like you were right there on the page talking to me.
I feel overwhelmed at times too, but it’s like Alex says, we learn at our rate, not the at the rate of the coaching. I’ve just been writing pages of notes on everything I’ve been learning, it’s really easy that way to just go to a folder, and find what I need to know right away.
I’m not getting things done as fast as I’d like to, but I’m taking small steps, and I’m seeing good results so far.
Great post, enjoyed every word of it.
Paul.

Thanks Paul,
Glad it helped, it’s difficult not to fall in to the trap at times.
As long as we are planning for success and not rushing to
get there, there can only be one result!
As you say, Simple Steps
Take care

Hi Sean,
Great post, you have echoed many of my own thoughts here. I used to buy every product that came out that said it could make you rich in a day, of course they never did, i read them, maybe did a few things listed in the ebook, then moved on to something else when it didn’t make me rich over night.
I also have an incredible passion for Internet Marketing, I love every minute that I am working on my computer, building up what I hope will be a very profitable and successful business. Get IM right, and you can live the life of your dreams. I am already part way there. I am living in beautiful Thailand now, which I wouldn’t have been able to do without IM. Now i just want to make this business grow and grow, and i love every minute making that happen.
Cheers Sean, hope to catch up with you soon.
