2009 Where did that go? On to 2010 and what will happen

By Sean Beardmore

Here we go again :) ,  it is that time of year where another year goes out of the window and another year fast approaches, and all of us take time to reflect on what we achieved or didn’t achieve and what we can do better next year.

In fact we are approaching the end of a decade, they called it the noughties for some reason, can someone explain? :) If your anything like me you’ll be thinking where did that time go, but there again they say as you get older time moves faster ;) But I was pleased to hear this last decade that 40 was the new 30, so I am going with that lol!

Before you read on, I want you to watch the following video which  sums up my 2009 to a point and why my 2010 online is going to be even better. It will either inspire you or you may think, what was all that about!

Any way, I hope you get the message. Watch the video right the way up to about 5 minutes 30 seconds.

Simple message in that video, Never Give Up, Keep going. That is my focus for 2010 and beyond, simple.

Why did my 2009 stall when I had some momentum? Simple really it was personal challenges I had to deal with at that time and still do, but everything is getting a little easier, bit by bit. I want you to know that life happens and you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it. What is important is to remember is that never give up. I’ve had amazing support from certain people who believe in me, and I want to say thank you to you.

Well I am not going to focus too much on 2009, but I guess the most positive thing that happened to me was to making the decision to become one of Alex Jeffreys Marketing Students and be mentored by someone who has experienced the highs and lows of trying to make money online, on your own. But now, Alex is earning the income we all desire! So who best to follow ;)

I guess that is it in a nutshell, making money online can seem like a very lonely business when you first get started, but becoming one of alex’s students is undoubtedly the best decision I made this year, because it isn’t that lonely online once your involved with a marketing programme like alex jeffreys and you begin to build up online relationships.

Highlights for me this year, were making so many new friends online and offline, because of being involved with Alex’s Marketing With You Programme and attending my first Internet Marketing Workshop with Lee McIntrye in Manchester in October. Great weekend! I met up with Alex for the second time at lee’s event, as you will see.

Me and Alex Jeffreys

I also met up with Dean Holland, Dan Briffa, David Walker, Lee McIntrye (obviously) Matt Garrett, John Thornhill, Dave Nicholson, and fellow students, Mick Fallon, Paul Lear, Steve Wakefield,  Marc ‘The Hair’ Milburn, David Chamberlain, Rich Hill and if I have left anyone else out, sorry!

Another highlight this year was the video competition Alex held in the training programme, although I din’t win, Matt Wolfe was the worthy winner but I was proud of my first effort and it has given me the push I need to create my new product in Jan 2010 plus the desire to create everything in Video! No more Ebooks for me from now on, Video Only!

Here it is again

OK, the most important aspect that I learnt in 2009, was that of having a plan and sticking to it, without a plan or written goals I would fast become as Alex puts it, a Busy Fool and end up like the 98% of marketers out there, thats where I had gone wrong all of the years!

So, this brings me on to my Plan for 2010. I have spent the last 2 days, writing everything down and planned it. I am so excitied about 2010 now that I have it planned so I can focus on what needs to be done on my business. Here is a snap shot, but I will be documentating what I do as well, so any newbie can follow me and see it as I do it.

Business Goals

  • Create Three New Products 1 x Every 120 Days. I will be relasing a video tutorial product and a membership site and I am putting to paper in June an idea I have for a software product to be released at the end of 2010.
  • Attend at Least Four Internet marketing Events This Year
  • Take My List from 70 – 10,000 in 12 months, yes that is my goal!
  • Build Long Term Online Relationships for future JV Partnerships
  • Create a Following In My Marketing that gives Value, No Hype, No Bull Shit, Keeps It Real
  • One New Blog Post Every Week

Entrepreneurial Goals

Goals

  • In 12 months time I want to be earning a full time income online of £7,000 per month – £10,000  per month from my own products and email marketing other peoples products.
  • I will have an Online Business where I will work only 5 hours a day, time freedom and money freedom
  • I will have a team in place which will be outsourced for support, graphics and websites.
  • I will compete in affiliate marketing competitions and finish within the top ten and be recognised in the Internet Marketing Niche

So there you have a snap shot of what I am going to be doing on the next 12 months, and writing it here is making me accountable to you, and that really is stepping up to the plate. I haven’t published my personal goals, well cause they are personal, but when I do acheive them,  I will share them with you!

I know there will be challenges along the way, life happens, it does and there is nothing we can do about it, but I have pledged to myself to remain focused throughout this year. it is not going to be all work, work, work,  I plan to have fun too!

If you have any thoughts or have a comment on what I have written, I want to hear it.

I am still a newbie at Internet marketing, I am going to make mistakes, but I am looking forward to
the journey and sharing it with you.

Finally remeber the following which I recently learnt from another mentor.

The First 80% Of Success is Starting NOW
The Remaining 20% Is Sticking Around and Refusing To Leave
The You Have 20% Working to Keep The Fire Going
And 80% of Fun To Enjoy The Fruits Of Your Work

Happy New Year!

Stay posted as I progress throughout 2010 :)

Hey Sean,

Nice to see you are back on track and that everything is getting a little better.

Great goals, it is good to put them out there for all to see that way you can’t shy away from them or put them off.

I am already wondering about what the software could be guess I will have to wait and see.

I hope to be seeing you at some of those events ( If my wife lets me)

As for your list, I would like to start you off with what I can. I am only at 950 at the moment but willing to post your free offer to my list to see if I can get you a few more people on your list. Hit me up on Skype it’s in the MWA forum or just shoot me an email.

I am sure that 2010 is going to be a great year for you.

Hey Sean,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I wish you the best in obtaining your goals you’ve set for yourself in 2010. 10K subscribers, that’s a large number to shoot for and it’s a number that I’d like to reach. It’s going to take a ton of work but I have no doubt you can do it.

That was a great video of that young football player carrying his teammate into the end zone. It made me reflect on 2009 and I know I didn’t give it my best effort. I need to remain focused and give it my best and if I do that the rest will fall into place. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Hi Sean,

I must say, your blog looks the business – very professional looking with some great content. Well done!

I wish you all the best with your goals for the year, just keep plugging away, bit by bit and you’ll get there i’m sure.

Thanks for popping by my blog and saying hello. I set it up in December before joining Alex’s course, when i was considering working as a freelance article writer. That idea has now been shelved for the forseeable future so i will need to overhaul my blog in the coming weeks / months…so watch this space!

Who designed your logo by the way?

Anyway all the best and speak soon!

Onwards & Upwards,

Cliff
