How many times have you heard that phrase, the money is in the list? No matter what your niche is online, you need a list
I’ve heard it so many times, but it wasn’t until Alex’s webinar and Module #2 on Monday evening that it REALLY sank in…..another AHA moment
Now I have attempted to build a list in the past but it was quite apparent after the webinar what I had been doing SO wrong…..I’ve been trying to build a list to sell to….I know that is the real reason to build a list in the first place BUT…….there is a strategy here…
yes I was giving away a product for free, but it was not of any real value, infact the people who did opt in, grabbed the FREE product I had on offer and unsubscribe from the list within days, so all of my hard work was undome.
So why were they unsubscribing so quickly?
Easy…
I was not providing them with any real value
I wasn’t trying to build a relationship with that list
I was trying to sell to them almost immeadiately as soon as they joined my list
I was not getting across who I was or building any rapport or trust
Simple when you look at, isn’t it?
So it’s back to the drawing board on this one, and my goal is to stay focused with building that list and make that a list of people who will trust me and more importantly for me to provide them with valuable information.
Once they become a list of LOYAL subscribers, then I can begin to have the secure relationship and start to share VALUE.
Interesting point Alex made on Monday was that for each subscriber on your list this is worth $1.00 per month to you!
I’ll let you do the math and answer the question……..so is the money in the list?

and again, that is how you can start building your list by simply giving away something of VALUE for FREE….

Great post dude!
Yup, Alex is giving us all real “Ahh” moments for sure! I too had been building a list to sell to – but now I’m building a list of people I truly want to help. If I can help others succeed then I’ve succeeded myself.
That’s my focus – to offer real value and to share a journey learning to success. Alex is showing us that path – and it’s good to see things just clicking not only in my mind but in other student’s minds too.
Really looking forward to tomorrow’s night session now!

Hi sean i have just read all your posts great stuff and it sure rings true with me.
But Ive got a good feeling about this course not only because of the support from Alex and his team but also the support from you and the other students giving sharing valuble tips .
Yes & boy those webinars are long aren’t they .
i to have to get up early for work , i work at a large chemical company so if you hear a loud bang in the direction of Liverpool i have fell asleep at the controls , so blame Alex lol.

All true Sean. And it jibes with something else that I heard from another wise “guru”: it’s not just having a list, it’s having a RESPONSIVE list that matters. And one of the things you need to do to make your list responsive is to build those relationships with them. AHA !

Hey Sean,
Really enjoyed this post. I think you’ve highlighted all the important stuff. It makes a lot of sense doesn’t it? But sometimes the information needs to come from a certain and be delivered in a certain way. That’s when the AHA moments happen I suppose.

The moneys in the list!!! Have we all being repeating that in our minds since monday……we need to provide value for the people who want to stay on our list….not woory about the ones that unsubscribe…the blogs great thanks for the post

Great post mate, you’re so right, list building is THE most important aspect of our online business. I am going to make list building a top priority from now on in.
Like you mentioned, you need to value your list and market to it wisely, offer great value all the time otherwise you will get people unsubscribing so fast.
As Alex has taught us, you shouldn’t SELL to your list, you need to MARKET to them, big difference, it’s all about building the trust.

You are not the only one having “Aha” moments – since receiving some coaching from both Rich Schefren and Alex it has become embarrassingly obvious as to what I have missed all these years.
I can’t believe I have stubbornly overlooked list building for so long, when it could have made me a fortune.
A lot of wasted time needs to be put right.
